I watched a video on Karen Brown's Just Get it Done YouTube channel. Karen has a series of videos named Karen's Quilt Circle where she interviews a variety of different quilters. This video featuring John from Art East Quilt Company. I found John very inspiring coming from a costume background to quilt pattern designer. His quilt patterns are colorful, contemporary, fun and guaranteed to make you smile.
During the interview, John mentioned an upcoming quilt-along featuring animals which were currently trending, hence the name Trending Quilt Block of the Month. Each month a new trending animal quilt block would be released. I knew I wanted to be a part of this so quickly visited the website and signed up for the pattern and sew-along!
After ordering the Kona solid fabrics and choosing two different background colors (one for each of my grandkids), I was excited to start. The quilt-along took 10 months but I couldn't wait until the next animal was reviled each month.
Both quilt tops are complete and I couldn't be happier with the outcome! I'm excited to get both tops on the longarm and add some texture. I'll post additional photos of the final quilts when finished!
